“Q: Why do you blog?
A: Partly to make Butterflies and Wheels more frequently updated and more interactive (as well as that bit more interesting, I hope), but also because I think the world des-perately needs to hear my opinions, and I like to oblige.” ― Ophelia Benson
Hi, welcome to my blog! I am The Singing Monkey.
When I was 23, I left university to fully immerse myself into snowboarding. To taste it, to feel it, to be alive! Ever since I was a kid, I always wanted to travel and I loved mountains.
I didn’t grow up snowboarding, the first time I ever strapped a board on my feet was when I was 23, and I certainly never thought I would become an instructor. But here I am, age 30, surrounded by beautiful people in the mountains of South Korea.
I never thought that one day I would be a freestyle snowboarder.
But I am.
I also never thought I could have a job that would allow me to travel the world and live in the mountains.
But I did.
Dreams come true.
It’s all a bit overwhelming sometimes when I think about this.
My succes I owe to all of the wonder women who inspired me throughout my life. They told me I should do more, push my boundaries and step out of my comfort zone so that I can live up to my full potential.
With this blog I hope to do the same for other women.
We all doubt our awesomeness sometimes, I still do and that’s okay. It’s not okay though have doubt stop you from following your dreams.
The world needs more wonder women. We especially need more female snowboarders. Because we have more fun in numbers.
I hope you will snowboard with me some day.
So we can shred the gnar.
